Castle Youth Football League is located in Newburgh, Indiana, home of the Castle Knights.  Our leagues are geared toward children in grades K-6. We currently offer flag and tackle leagues.  

Our vision is to make football the sport of choice for the children of our community and to become the premier youth sports league in Southern Indiana.

Please review this chart.  The chart outlines, based on players’ birth date, what league(s) they are eligible to register for.  This is a change from years past when leagues were comprised of all the kids in the same grade level. 

This initiative is intended to more closely pair players together with players in a similar age group.  Many times, there can be kids in the same grade that have over a year of age difference.   Especially in the younger age groups, this age difference can result in significant physical developmental difference.  We are attempting to level the playing field where the youngest players in a grade do not become frustrated and lose interest in the game of football only because they were intimidated by competing and playing with/against more developmentally advanced players.  This often is not a reflection of a players athletic ability or potential, it is simply a size and development difference that will not even out until later grade levels.

We have attempted to provide some flexibility, as a parent, if your child’s birthdate falls into one of the gold shaded boxes, you have the choice to select which of the two leagues you want your player to be registered for.

We have made some adjustments to the original chart that was posted here.   This is a philosophical change for us that requires a bit of a learning curve for making this achieve our desired goal.   After listening to some parents’ feedback and comparing previous seasons registrations, we feel that the following chart will more closely reflect our original intent.

We know that change is challenging for everyone including us, we appreciate you signing your player up for Castle Youth Football League, We are excited to get another great season started.
